Tax treatment
- Becomes tax resident: After 183 days; foreign income EXEMPT for E33G holders if employer is foreign and work done remotely
- Special regime: E33G-specific: foreign-sourced income exempt from Indonesian tax
- Foreign income: E33G holders' foreign income explicitly tax-exempt — codified in Ministry of Finance Reg 18/2021 (extending older 'Visa B211 used as DNV' practice).
Indonesia ABANDONED the 5-year Bali Digital Nomad Visa proposed in 2022. E33G is the formal replacement — 1 year initial + tax-free foreign income. Net effect: foreign-source income exempt during stay.

Notes
Indonesia's 5-year Bali Digital Nomad Visa was famously announced 2022 but never launched. E33G (April 2024) is the actual current program — 1 year renewable + foreign income tax-exempt + Bali/Jakarta access. Pair with Second Home Visa (USD 130K bank deposit) for longer commitments.
