We built EasyPassport after chasing our own second passports.
We're descendants ourselves — our families left Europe generations ago — and we went after the citizenship they passed down. It turned out to be real but maddening: multi-generational records, apostilles, certified translations, consulates. So we built the tool we wished we'd had — check eligibility, build your lineage, and get a primary-source-backed checklist and cost estimate, without a $10,000 consultant.
Why we built this
We did this the hard way. We tracked down a grandparent's birth and marriage records from a parish office and a state archive an ocean away, then chased the naturalization file that would decide whether the line was even still open. We paid for apostilles and certified translations, sat in consulate backlogs, and collected contradictory advice from people who each sounded certain.
Along the way we were quoted five figures — $8,000 to $10,000 — for work that, once we understood it, was often something you can do yourself. The hard part was never the money. It was not knowing what to gather, in what order, and whether any of it would actually add up to a claim.
That's the tool we built: one that cites its primary sources, stays honest about what you may or may not qualify for, and turns a shoebox of half-answers into a clear, dated checklist. We'd have paid a lot for it. Instead, we made it — and made the eligibility check free.
Breadth + depth
Most tools pick one: a few countries done well, or many done shallowly. We pair a country-generic engine with primary-source-cited packs so coverage grows without losing rigor.
Primary sources, dated
Every rule and cost is authored from statutes and government sources with a last-verified date, and pending court rulings surface as dated advisories on your outcome.

We say “may qualify,” never “you qualify.” We’re a document-organization tool, not a law firm — individualized opinions route to the relevant authority or a qualified attorney.
No document vault
We never store passports or government IDs. EasyPassport helps you organize and track what you need — deliberately not a place to upload identity documents.
