Tax treatment
- Becomes tax resident: Welcome Stamp holders explicitly EXEMPT from Barbados PIT for the full 12-month stay
- Special regime: Statutory exemption — Welcome Stamp holders deemed non-resident for tax purposes
- Foreign income: Foreign income earned during Welcome Stamp is not taxable in Barbados. Welcome Stamp creates a special tax status.
Statutory non-resident treatment is the headline benefit. Barbados generally would tax residents at 12.5-28.5% PIT — Welcome Stamp bypasses this.

Recent changes
- 2020-06
Barbados Welcome Stamp launched — first formal Caribbean DNV.
- 2024-2025
Programme stable; renewable. Barbados has lost some share to newer Caribbean nomad stamps with lower fees.
Notes
Barbados Welcome Stamp = statutory zero-tax status + family eligible + indefinite renewability + 1-year stays. Drawback: USD 2,000 fee (highest in Caribbean), USD 50K income. Mature programme, less competitive than newer Caribbean stamps.
