Document an all-male line to your Luxembourg-born ancestor (a single maternal link is allowed if you were born on/after 1 Jan 1969 AND the mother's own line is all-male) and file with the Ministry of Justice by post. No trip to Luxembourg and no generational cap.

Art. 23 — option (in-person appearance)

Acquire citizenship by option via a parent or grandparent who is or was Luxembourgish (where nationality was not passed down). Requires a mandatory in-person signature before a Luxembourg civil registrar — a proxy is not permitted, so plan a trip to Luxembourg.
